Probably this. Best season in South Bend since 88, no way ND let's Kelly slip away.

If he does indeed leave, I wonder what that Bryant kid from Florida would do?

Once upon a time, ND renegotiated the contract they had with their head coach at the time in the middle of the season (Charlie Weis) because they were not going to let him slip away.....

ABSOLUTELY I would...go to the NFL if you fail you will prolly get atleast 3 years, then the college teams will be begging you to take a HC job there, because they wont care what you did in the NFL (SABAN) but what you did in college and you land a top notch programs HC job

Frankly, I don't see Kelly as a HC in the NFL. As a successful HC, I should say. But maybe he's just what Jay Cutler needs.
Odds are high that he'll continue, richer, at Notre Dame.

Bob might take it this time if offered. He knows the cupboard is bare here and this team is no where close to competing. He could leave and make it someone elses problem while he gets to coach ND's good recruiting classes. I'd probably make the move if I was him.

OK, say Bob does leave and we get Kirby Smart, what makes you think that he could do the same here that he has done at Bama? Stoops came from an SEC team and brought in the type of defense that was fresh and nasty and it showed for a few years in the conference. Then, the spread offenses start to blossom and we bring back Mike and think that we will have the same type of defense form the earlier Stoops years and it had the worst game defensively ever and the other games weren't too great either. aTm leaves the Big 12 with a high octane offense with Sumlin taking over coming from Houston and they are the only team to beat Bama.

Colin Cowherd is reporting that there is actual interest now and that this isn't a stunt for a payraise.

The only thing that makes sense is last name. Absolutely no players in place to run his offense.
