I don't think Joe will hire a coach who was violating NCAA rules for 4 years and there's a good chance the NCAA will slap Chip with a show cause penalty.

You do recall that Bob was DC at K-State and then Florida before coming to OU, right?
Not everyone wants to go to OU or thinks OU is great like me.
Bob is a defensive minded guy but the defense has been mediocre at best for a long time now.
If Kelly failed in the NFL, he'd enter the college ranks with a fire in his belly. A fire that appears to have been extinguished long ago for Stoops.

I'm well aware. My point was just that our problems, for the most part, aren't on offense. And Kelly is an offensive guru with a gimmick spread, that got held to 14 against a big physical defense, just like our offense has been known to do.
I was saying it we DID replace Bob, I would want it to be by a guy who is known for a stifling defense. Not another high-octane offense.

The only guys that would be an improvement over what we have are the NFL's untouchables? Really? It is amazing that if OU took the approach that we can't actually get anybody better than BGB, and that if we were to ever go fishing we only go looking for people that we could not possibly get. With that thinking we would just stand status quo until BGB became NGB (No Game Bob).
It is amazing that every college coach, regardless of the degree of success that they have had or are having somewhere, could not be a good thing in Norman. Each one has a fundamental flaw that would throw us downward where we... wait for it, wait for it.... no longer compete for national titles. I guess our coaching staff has a corner on success playing Baylor, TT, and the Pokes for Big 12 Titles.
I say is he can hold out 3-4 yrs give it to Norvell and Cale as OC
