I love Deadspin as much as the next guy, but can we please quit sucking them off for this story? Its not like they, with all their journalistic integrity and hard-workitude, figured this all out. They got a tip from someone who knew what was going on and followed up on it. They basically figured it all out and wrote the story in 2-3 days. Its not like they did hard, investigative journalism for months and months, chasing leads all over the place only to figure out this bombshell.

Ive officially got zero ****s left to give. It sounds like he met a girl online, made up details about meeting her so that he wouldnt come across as someone with an internet girlfriend, then he figured it out, but didnt want to look like an idiot in front of the country so he kept lying when the media asked about it for the last month. Stupid? yea, of course, but really, who cares?

thanks for responding to my post when you obviously didnt bother reading it. yes, i think its pretty obvious that he was duped to some degree. and its also pretty obvious that he lied about a lot of things. they arent mutually exclusive here.
