Not bad. He's got a lot of natural ability, and you can see he understands the fundamentals.
Two biggest cons I saw: 1. He doesn't finish. Which leads me to believe either he doesn't see himself as challenged at this point, or he doesn't care much. I'm leaning towards the first. 2. He's weak for a kid his size. There were instances in that single video that show much smaller dudes firing off at him and him struggling just a bit to control them. You could see he had the skill set to get into position to pancake them, but couldn't always do it, even against smaller guys. This will obviously be remedied at the right college program.
My biggest fear would be that he's weak b/c he doesn't care enough (combination of 1 and 2). For his sake, hopefully it's just a matter of him being bored at the high school level. But boy, if he goes to the AA or UA game and goes up against DEs who've worked their tails off, he's going to get pushed around badly.
Is there any more video of him available, aside from this one game? I'd love to see if my initial impressions are wrong.
it seems like every year we spend a lot of time in chicago recruiting. Does anything ever pan out there or should we focus or recruiting efforts somewhere else?
Don't most of the better prospects in greater Chicago come out of the suburbs rather than the city for football, with the reverse in BB?
