In one form or another, its usually a person that feels they have to retaliate against something or someone. Is that crazy? I dont know, but they obviously feel that its bad enough for them to act out in that way.

Taking away guns from individuals possession is not an inherent tenet of socialism.

Yup. It's illegal to even have one in your vehicle regardless of permit. Only security forces/mps can have one.
