He's not a pub...not even a rino. He burned his bridges with the pubs, politically. He made statements that turned out to be absolutely wrong and he tried to be as damaging to W as possible. The pubs owe him nothing If I was a pub senator then I would much rather vote for a dem than hagel.
That said, I suspect he will be confirmed.
Obama could nominate Jim Inhofe to run the epa and the pubs would **** all over inhofe. They have no substance, just do the opposite of what Obama wants.
Except for Texoma, Kerry walked through with flying colors. Hagel is another matter though.
BHO only nominates people he can put in these positions and pull their strings. Inhofe would never do that. Plus, he wouldn't have anything to do with BHO's corrupt and totally useless EPA.
Maybe if Obama didn't do something that has failure all over it they might support him.

I kinda like Hagel honestly. He doesn't seem like he would be all that bad, but he's not going to do much different from what the main guy wants which is to continue with the Bush style tactics all over the world.
