Huge difference.. It was Barrys idea to run the bone.. and he was the OC.. Barry was the best damn recruiter in the country as an ****istant and Barry actually recruited MOST of the players who played for him after he became head coach.. HUGE DIFFERENCE ! Blake didn't recruit Barrys talent.. LOL But he damn sure recruited most of Bob's..

I don't think that we were unprepared for LSU nor FL, we just didn't get the breaks in those games.

You think either of those guys claim Stoops is as good as Bud or Barry if White doesn't overthrow KeJuan or if Manuel Johnson doesn't let Bradford's p**** bounce off of him right befor halftime?
IF **** don't get it man.. What IF Barry had won another NC ? See.. Great coaches find a way to win in more NC games than Bob..

Haha, I have a very hard time seeing John Blake doing that. And as for Switzer, he had been on the staff for 7 years so he was already very comfortable with everything and it wasn't a hard adjustment for the players at all.
As I said Barry recruited most of the players before he became the head coach..

What I'm saying is that our last two ten win seasons do not compare to prior ten win seasons such as 2001 like we're still on the cusp of actually winning a title. We competed for titles back then. Nowadays, we let up 800 yards to West Virginia and 500 to a single player twice in the same season. We lose to the likes of OSU, KSU, and Baylor. We do not compete for national titles anymore. Remember when Bob was something ridiculous like 11-0 against Top 10 opponents? Yeah, I know, I had to think really hard to remember that obscure factoid, too.

There is no sugarcoating the fact that we're in the ****.

Bob is right about the OU won-loss record the last few years. It looks good. What bothers me is that we don't win against good opponents. We don't win games we "should not" win. No Sooner Magic. Or at least very little lately.

We get man handled and that never seemed to happen in the past. At lest not very often (I remember Miami in the 80s doing it to a degree).

If we can get back to winning our share against the USC, Alabama, Georgia type program - a lot will be forgotten.

Georgia is not a historical powerhouse... at least in my opinion.

Yeah. Thats what I meant by "it wasn't a hard adjustment" for the players to make when Switzer took over. He had been there for a while and as you said, he recruited a lot of those guys.

As I said in the above thread I do have to give Bob credit for being a great coach overall. Fix the problems Bob and win another NC . I guess it's not the above thread now. lol
