Ghosts looks bad ****. Splinter Cell meet COD. Can't wait...
I think the question we all want to ask is will it 'red ring' or meltdown in some way?

Alright, I've heard conflicting stories on this for a while now. Can someone explain the always connected to the internet thing to me. Right now my 360 has an always on internet connection but I only have one profile that logs into XBox Live. I don't let my kids game or connect to XBox Live for obvious reasons. So on the XBox Uno, are all of the profiles going to have to connect to Live each time you want to play a game even if you're only playing against the CPU instead of online gaming?
Hmmmm. No need to have the disc anymore, I like that.

I will reserve judgement for E3. I will most likely get both ps4 and xbox one. One of them I will probably wait a year or two to get. They really should have thrown the price out. A lot of people didn't like this conference because of the lack of games, but if they threw out that subsidized $150 with a 2 year xbl contract I think it would have made people a lot happier.
Bungie just announced that their Destiny title will be on Xbox One.
I really like the ability to take over the TV. As long as I can program a universal remote to control it, and not have to talk to the ****ing Xbox any time I want to change the channel or go to the guide, count me in.
A dynamic guide has gotta beat the crap TWC sticks me with.
Hardware design is ehh. But I guess comparable to a Motorola STB.
Glad they're sticking with very similar controller. A bit iffy on the Kinect part. Mine currently sits behind the TV unless it's a rare occasion that I'm using it. If this one has to be out front and center all the time to play any game, I might not have room for it.
I don't care about the used games part as I've never bought used, but I would have liked some form of backwards compatibility. Games like Halo are games that can be played and enjoyed for longer than a year.

Buy on the rumor, sell on the announcement. Happens with every tech company. You're never gonna make everybody happy.
Sony's stock took a nosedive when they announced the PS4 as well. http://www.destructoid.com/sony-stoc...l-246170.phtml
I gotta say, I doubt I'll get much use out of it, but the Kinect 2 seems freaking awesome...

My kids love the Kinect. I enjoy watching them jump around and play Sonic Free Riders and the Star Wars game.

I think this is why gamers are mad, but E3 will be all about games.

MS is the first conference at E3. And I think they have one hour. If they put that stuff in their E3 conference, people would have their pitchforks out.
The XBone.
That's some top-notch branding you got going on there, Lou.
Yup.
A lot of the "hardcore gamer" segment is upset because they didn't show games at the announcement. Quite frankly, if they just showed new games and talked about how it had a faster processor and more RAM, I wouldn't give a ****. Gameplay and graphics are at a point now where there's just not going to be monumental leaps anymore like there were in the 25 years of m****-market console gaming up to this point. All the living room integration stuff is what makes this console interesting.
I'm not worried about the games, because I know there are going to be games. I didn't need them to tell me that. They told me the things that make this console new and different and interesting. That's what I want to know.

I have an Apple TV and a smart blu ray player already. That's why I know I like the stuff. Nobody has gone out and bought a standalone Google TV device. A LOT of people will go out and buy the Xbox One.
What I DEFINITELY don't want is anything that requires a keyboard. I will never use IE on the Xbox One. But the Xbox One could very well completely replace my Apple TV and BDP and do a couple other things, in addition to still playing all the games I want it to. I'd say that's pretty cool.
It's not like MS went and made a console that ignores games and developers. They went and made an x86 8-core processor with 5 GB of dedicated RAM plus a GPU with its own RAM. The thing will be easy to develop great games for. None of the TV and other stuff makes it any worse as a gaming machine. It just makes it even better as an entertainment machine.
Has this stuff not been possible on the 360?
I've been surfing, watching pron, and TV on my ps3 for years.

My windows media centers do all this already, and could do all that hand voice stuff if I bought a kinect for windows, but I don't want to talk to my TV, so the game system I buy will be about games, and since we won't see Gran Turismo for the PS4 for a few years or NCAA for either it may be awhile before I buy one. This of course will change if GTA V is available on these systems. Then I have a decision to make.

Since all of the complaints about the Xbox One's "check in every 24 hours" that I have seen have been made by people on the Internet, I wonder how many of them will have their consoles connected 24/7/365 anyway.
I haven't read much about it, but to check in, they want use to have it on at least once a day?
I think the system is always on in a "low power mode" and probably doesn't need to actually be fully powered on to "check in." Or if you fully power on, the first thing that will happen is a check-in if it has been longer than 24 hours since your last check-in?
I know subscription based services like the Zune requires a "check in" once every week or so.
I think I'm going to finally update my PC and skip this cycle of consoles, at least until they get a price drop, or some game comes out for one of them that I must have.
Great GIF of the xBox one.

Quite the backlash in the gaming community towards Microsoft when they confirmed 24 hour check in requirements.
Was it just me or did some of the PS4 demos seem to have some frame rate issues (specifically the FFXIII demo)?
Looks like the initial online reaction is that the PS4 will KILL the X-Box One.
Xbox 1 has 8gb DDR3 ram - PS4 has 8gb GDDR5 = PS4 wins
Xbox 1 is $499 - PS4 is $399 = PS4 wins
Xbox 1 will ban used games/borrowed games - PS4 will not = PS4 wins
Xbox 1 will require internet connection 24/7 - PS4 will not = PS4 wins
Someone sent me this and thought it was real.
