Very sad day in the household

People who have pets know how they are a part of your family.

I hadn't seen one of our cats in about 24 hours which was very strange, especially for this one. I went searching for her and came to find her curled up under my daughter's bedroom bed having passed away in the night I presume.

She was relatively young for a cat. I wasn't really prepared for her to be the one to p**** as I have another cat I have had since college who is twice her age and very antisocial other than with me.

The world would be better off with more cats and fewer dwarfs.

    Scientifically this just isn't true.

    But sorry about your cat.

Sorry about your cat. Did you notice any change in her drinking or eating in the previous week?

We get that he doesn't like cats. I guess he doesn't realize that.

Hopefully a mountain lion will get him when he goes to his cabin in the Sierras.

I love both cats and dogs. And I have a bunch of both.

    I'm sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about that, SC. I've never been much of a pet guy, but because of our kids we got a couple of dogs and a cat. I've actually grown quite fond of all of them and I know my kids (and myself) would be devastated if anything happened to one of them.

Sorry for your loss. Before I read this thread, I was going to ask if you lived near Socali.

I'm so sorry for your loss. They are a part of the family and those who don't have pets have no clue what they are missing.

SoCali allows the cats to use his pool. How many of you can say that?

Sorry to hear that, but if it makes you feel any better (& if there is such a thing), at least she went the right way. We lost our little 10 lb. Yorkie/Poodle mix last week when he somehow got into the neighbors' yard when we let him out to do his business (we all think one of their dogs managed to get ahold of him under the fence & dragged him under it because we had him 15 years & he'd shown no inclination whatsoever to do something like that, but there's no way to prove it) & the 3 full grown Golden Labs they have next door made sure that Freeway never made it back to our yard. Not exactly the fairest of fights.

As I said, we did have him 15 years (& FWIW, we think we'd have had him around 4-5 more or so because he was showing some very slight signs of slowing down) of nothing but laughter & happiness so we're thankful for that, but we're having one heck of a time dealing with the way he went out, he deserved a better fate. It'd still be tough no doubt, but I have very little doubt that we'd be handling it a little better had I just rolled over one morning & found he'd passed. At least yours went out peacefully, be thankful for that much, & keep your chin up.
