He's in the doghouse but I haven't heard anything about him being kicked off.
I can't say who it is, but he's pretty damn reliable who told me (word for word) that Simon is in one of those gray areas, where he's on the outs, but still around. Nothing official yet obviously, but it has certainly developed quickly like you said and also seems to think this is why these last minute offers at CB are going out.

That's a pretty big step down from Gary Simon to a 150lb 2* CB. This sucks, but if you want to live the thug life, go live it. We got championships to try and lose.

I heard he failed a drug test this semester. I'm sure that played into it some.
If we're going to shift into an over-signing era at Oklahoma, we're going to start seeing guys with talent matriculate out of the program on a regular basis. Just need to go sign a DB to replace him.
It was academics and not particiapting in workouts from what I was told.
Then he was pretty useless to begin with. Don't want guys not willing to work hard and lack dedication.
Simon was a grade risk coming out of high school so the academics part doesn't surprise me.
Just about half of every recruiting cl**** washes out during the course of their 4-5 year period. Thus far out of 25 recruits OU has lost 5. Harlow, McGee, Latu, Gardner and Simon. It's a shame to lose a guy who looked like a contributor but it happens about every year. Business as usual.
Damn, thought he had the chance to be a special CB for OU down the line.
Man we are thin at CB. I can only name 4 guys capable of really playing CB (Colvin, Cortez, K****, Sanchez) - not counting Austin who is a year or two away from playing I would ****ume with his size
Colvin was an impact as a true frosh. Just gotta hope someone in this cl**** can do the same.

I agree - we only have one cb in this cl**** and he is very small. Obviously we have to stay very healthy.

Obviously don't know the entire situation with Simon, but I really don't understand guys who think they can just show up, not go to cl**** and skip work outs. Life is pretty easy for them I guess.
Surely Norvell can find a CB with asthma to transfer and play this year.

Lol, I never said he was leaving. He was "on the fence" as you would call it and it appears he's been given another chance. It wasthat said he was gone and just posted what he said over the radio.

Just bc there's an official "he's still on the team" doesn't mean he's in the clear. He's probably in the doghouse and depending on what happens between now and August, it's TBD if he's going to remain on the team.
