he's my big sleeper in this cl**** too. I think we can use him like ATM uses there young Mike Evans kid. Just a monster of a receiver in the field. Cavil has the body and reminds me more of atm kid than brown.

Reminds me of a Kellen Winslow. Very athletic TE.

so the concensus for this cl**** is?
backs on offense: 1 really good QB and one really good RB prospect
    receivers: good but not great
    Olinemen: average
LBs: we ony signed one, meh
    DBs: really good, especially safeties
    DEs: good
DTs: good but have to hope they qualify

Consensus seems to be best in the conference, but not top 10.

Oh, I did not realize Dominique Alexander was a LB, so we only signed one, 2 star Corner?

3, counting 4-star Stanvon Taylor, who will be a star at OU. Mike Stoops said he would be a corner.

LJ Moore is a hybrid, who can play either corner or safety.

So telling of our conference. Makes me sad. Did anyone in the big12 sign a five star?

Has this ever happened before? not one school in the Big 12 got even 1 five start commit. That is crazy. I know the media hype of the SEC is bad, but did not think it would affect the Big12 that much.

to be fair, Texas had a 5* DT up until a few days ago until he was Bama's

the media hype is affecting everyone and kids want to play in the SEC and play with the best these days, the perception is the best is in the SEC and it's hard to dispute that...7 MNC in a row and I don't see that slowing down any time soon

not saying they win the MNC again this coming year but they will be a strong conference and in the mix for the MNC from now on and very well could make it 8 in a row

Any word on Derrick Griffin? Is he going to be visiting OU? He was a A&M commit, now no longer is and has not signed with anyone.

I do not pay for any recruiting stuff but I thought he was a 5 star somewhere.

doesn't have have qualifying issues as well? a grades risk yet again? I don't know we reached out to him or if he reached out to us or not but that's the reason he isn't at A&M right now

Recruit rankings, esp espn, is similar to media hype. Keith ford is 5 star and most of our players are high 4 stars yet are undervalued. We certainly missed on a lot of guys but the media circus around everything SEC is over the top. I'm not saying we have a top 10 cl****, but the hype continues to be skewed toward the SEC even contrary to some facts. It's an avalanche of BS.

Hasn't Alabama had at least a top 5, if not higher cl**** in the past 5 five years or so? Is it possible that a team outside all of the 4-5 star athletes could vye for the NC? Sure. But I'd much rather have a bunch of 4-5 star recruits, with some not working out than a cl**** outside the top 10 with a couple of athletes that over achieve.

Theres a correlation between rankings and success. Not necessarily overall team success, as coaching has a lot to do with that (nods towards UT). And its not hype skewed towards the SEC, its the fact that the SEC is basically heads and shoulders above the rest of the conferences and have won 7nc in a row. Saying they are overly hyped is like saying Michael Jordan was overly hyped.

Too bad that Keith Ford probably redshirts next season. It would be interesting to see a Ford vs Greg Bryant storyline next Sept.

Yah. But with as deep as we should be a RB next year, a RS is the right thing to do for him... IMO

Smart move, I wish Bryant would redshirt but we lost both of our starting RB's so it is likely he will be playing.
