If Mangino replaces Patton that just means there will be less space along OU's sidelines.

Is Patton the only coach being replaced? I've heard rumors (yes, rumors) about Shipp, kittle, and kish. I'll save my personal preferences for another time. I'm just asking if Patton is the only coach leaving.

Hard to believe that he would return just to coach centers and guards.

It looks from here that stoops has always had a hard time firing people and the hire of kittle was, in part, a device to get Patton to leave. He just ended up with two iffy coaches.

For that matter, would any ol coach of substance be willing to sign on for just interior line duties?

In short. We might actually be making an outside hire if the admins stick to their guns
This shows a significant shift in the relationship between Coach and his bosses. I doubt he's ever been denied a hire. I doubt he's ever be denied much of anything.

Well if that's the case it might show that the rest of the OU br**** is recognizing that Bob isn't getting the job done. Hopefully this will put pressure on Bob to not be content with being average.

There has been some talk about Brad Davis.

    This is a good interview
I like what he said about…..
It’s his job to uncover the talent.
Guys that let you down off the field will let you down on the field.
Expects his guys to over archive.

    He sounds very intelligent.
I don’t know where it will be…. but I get a pretty strong feeling that Brad Davis is going to do good things in the coaching profession.

If he's got a previous connection with Stoops then I guess there's a chance. Please let this happen.

Am told that before reaching out to Oregon ST's OL coach, USC also pursued Stanford's Mike Bloomgren. 0-2.

Brad Davis seems like he's a damn good coach. I don't know anything about his coaching career or perception, but just based off that video I would have no problem hiring him.

OU needs to put the hard sell on this guy. USC's a sinking ship, and Stanford is nowhere near the prestige of OU. Stanford's O-line straight-up pushes people around.

One thing is for sure. Stoops needs to make a homerun hire. Anything less will be a letdown.

Serious statement based off that video he's got some charisma and seems to have a fire about him. Now, when I say that I would hire him based off the video, I am ****uming he has a good rep within the coaching community as a recruiter, as well as for developing players, teaching technique, and getting the most out of his players.

There's a hit by pitch, intentional walk to a family member and a sacrifice bunt. No homerun since Sumlin was hired.

I knew it. I knew it would be some connection to one of the previous coaches. Another hire that will either keep the success of the line the same as under Patton or it will be even worse.

Another important point to ponder...we all know we arent going away from the spread under this staff. So why not get a guy that has proven he can have a successful run game out of the spread. Bedenbaugh has done that at Zona and WVU
