Just gonna cat out of bag. Hearing Mangino out as leading candidate and WVU's Bill Bedenbaugh as the leading candidate to replace Patton.
SoonerScoop.com @SoonerScoop
The more I check into Bedenbaugh, the bigger home run hire he would seem to be. Great recruiting and player development.

He recruited a 4-star linebacker this year. That's 1 more 4-star LB than the Univ. of Oklahoma recruited this year.

He may be the right hire, but I still think it's funny that he's worked for both Leach and Mike Stoops.Years Title Location
2011-Present Offensive Line Coach West Virginia
2010 Co-Offensive Coordinator & Offensive Line Coach Arizona
2007-2009 Running Game Coordinator & Offensive Line Coach Arizona
2005-2006 Offensive Line Coach Texas Tech
2003-2004 Running Backs Coach Texas Tech
2000-2002 ****istant Coach & Offensive Line Coach Texas Tech
1997-1998 ****istant Coach & Offensive Line Coach Central Michigan
I still think we need a young black coach. Brad Davis is the way to go.

I love the idea of Davis as a recruiter, but Bedenbaugh seems more equipped to come in and improve the run game from day 1.
Looks like we got our man

If Bill is the guy, I hope he does a great job. And I wont p**** judgement until I see a large enough product.

SoonerScoop.com @SoonerScoop Have been told Bill Bedenbaugh and Josh Heupel are very good friends and Bill married to relative of former Sooner Seth Litrell.

Boom. Done. Bob will be at the airport by 7 p.m. this evening!
Doesnt matter if the guy is qualified. I have done plenty of b*tchign about the Kittle hire but this guy would be a very good hire
If he is the recruit that some claim he will be an upgradeover Patton.
So is this it for coaching changes this year at OU.
I still think Kittle gets moved if you want to call that a change
The more I read on him, the more I like.
The 24/7 insider for West Virginia is reporting it's done too.

In the hope that I can jinx him into success, this is a bad hire. OU is gaining nothing where it matters:
Texas Tech:
2005: 104th in the nation at 107 rushing yards per game. (3.51 per carry)
2006: 112th in the nation at 78 rushing yards per game. (2.69 pery carry)
Arizona:
2007: 114th in the nation at 76 rushing yards per game. (2.88 per carry)
2008: 48th in the nation at 158.38 rushing yards per game. (4.09 per carry)
2009: 52nd in the nation at 159.38 rushing yards per game. (4.82 per carry)
2010: 88th in the nation at 131.69 rushin yards per game (3.94 per carry)
West Virginia:
2011: 92nd in the nation at 122 rushing yards per game (3.82 per carry)
2012: 52nd in the nation at 181.85 rushing yards per game (4.85 per carry)

I wish the admin would take some time, to evaluate, contract, and interview at least the top five canidates. my perception is ou its much to prestigious to just run out and hire the first guy that someone has worked with in the past. Maybe I think to highly of ou.

Looks like he's put a bunch of OL in the pros so that's. good sign.

So, is this done?
Are we losing any other coaches or is this it?
Refresh my memory. Has Stoops ever poached a coach within the Big 12?
http://newsok.com/oklahoma-football-...medium=twitter
BILL BEDENBAUGH
JOHN LATINA
MARK MANGINO
Interesting, but not the whole story.
I'll bet that part of the recommendation was from Mike Stoops. When you examine the tackles for loss allowed and sacks allowed from 2007-2009 they go from mediocre to outstanding. In 2010, they go back to mediocre again. Perhaps that has to do with talent that graduated.
