Kids at school aren't allowed to say "that's easy"

My son just told me that they get in trouble at school if they say that referring to their school work because it might hurt others feelings that are having a hard time with the subject.

Then, earlier today at the Y for his basketball game, the person working the clock was keeping score (big no no at the Y). There were a couple people who started yelling at the lady because their kids were getting their ****es kicked. They finally went and got someone from the front desk to come and delete it because they didn't want their kids to feel embarrassed.

I punish kids for saying "and one" and its double if they miss the shot and its triple if they miss the shot and free throws.

Teach your kids how to say "don't be poor" and see how that goes.

We're raising a generation of completely useless losers. Except they won't know they are losers because no one is allowed to keep score to let them know how much they are losing by.

Well since we have refs they use a whistle. I use a whistle in practice. In pick up games they usually say "foul" then the other team ****es.

You and your fancy referees and whistles. You don't know what it's like in the streets.

I think running separators after misses is a good idea.

The will when they enter the workforce. Their boss and the kids that were raised right keep score.

So I ****ume that all of you that are so certain of how to "raise kids right" are titans of industry? I ****ume you control the means of production? If not, why the **** should we or anyone else care about your opinions?

Don't know about titans of industry but as a single parent I did a damn good job of "raising my kid right".

I just get a kick out of people on here that seem to feel like they're somehow qualified to advise others on how to parent their children. I've got a kid. You know where the last place I'm gonna go to get parenting advice is? The ****ing Internet. If you've got a kid, and that's your first resource, you might be a ****ty parent.

Are you just talking about random **** or are people asking for parenting advice today?

I thought this thread was about the Y and other sporting clubs not keeping score so as to not hurt anyone's feelings?

    That is sad.

Losing makes you better. God forbid young kids want to work hard and get better because they have tried and failed before.

When my niece was like 4, she played soccer. For the first game it was cold, so we bundled up & traipsed out to the field with her in a fleece and a hoodie with an undershirt, maybe 2 pairs of tights under her sweats, pink puffy coat with a hood and white faux fur around her face. And her team tee squeezed on over all of that. She was ready. And all of the other kids were ready too, all with their hoods up to keep their little faces from freezing in the wind... But none of them had their tees on - you literally couldn't see their faces, let alone know what team they were on. She ran over to me mid-game and yelled WHO IS ON MY TEAM??!! I had no idea. Later she kept asking why no one was on her team and how could she win if they weren't? That was her last foray into team sports. But hey, she got a trophy. Oy.
    Next up, reining.
