    interesting ....i wonder why...
the herbicide and fertilizer in that stuff both work thru the roots....and needs water to take it down into the root zone...

The 2-4-d spray can be applied at any time, flowering or not, on any broadleaf weeds like oxalis, spurge or dandelions. You'll notice the dandelion flower curl up as it dies. Depending on the product, you'll get anywhere from 60%-90% kill rate from the first application if done properly. My guys use Quincept and get about 90% kill on the first application and with a second application a few weeks later they get the rest.

Weed and feeds are spotty at best as you have to get the fertilizer prill with the herbicide on it, directly on the weed for most effective results. The product also has to sit on the weeds for two days and can burn the lawn. People also have a tendency to come back a second time with the weed and feed to hit the weeds a second time when the kill rate is not bery high and end up burning their lawn. Best to spray of possible.

Agreed...would much rather spray. Have most weeds under control but these popped up pretty quickly. Just didn't want to kill the bermuda. Really just wanting to use the weed and feed for the fertilizer. I'll look into that Qunicept too. Thanks.

I know what is in Quincept and I've used 2-4-d in residential applications for over 20 years.

I know that of which I speak....

yet you don't know that it was the dicamba that killed the flowering dandelions and not the 2-4-d

I don't care what chemical kills it as long as it's dead. Way to **** it up.

I aerate my own, along with everything else the lawn needs. Yes, it is worth doing.

There's a couple places online that sell them. I have purchased a couple parts for mine before.

Is it something you do annually?

Yep, twice. Fall and spring. Probably overkill, but the lawn is healthy, and if the practice is good enough for a golf course, its good enough for my lawn.

Be good time to aerate right now, with all the rain we've had. Soft soil and what not.

I seeded a couple of days ago and they're starting to germinate. Is it okay to aerate this weekend?

Should be ok; you don't want to do it if your yard is really soaked. Just moist.

Also, I should have mentioned this earlier. If your yard is Bermuda it can really benefit from being detached as well. Dethatching should be only done once a year, and not on a newly seeded or a young yard.
