This story is prime example of why you should always leave the scene of an accident, especially when drunk.

sorry I thought the smiley at the end was meant as my generic sarcasm, whilst not a huge fan of Ms. Fluke I certainly don't find her stupid, I find her fight on the feminist front to be less than noble but she seems smart enough... Is this better my dear.

She is poor example of feminism at best, I commend her for the attempt yet fault her for the request.

Never use an emoticon as a sarcasm indicator.

She's a law student at Georgetown so I'm sure she's book smart. She allowed herself to be a pawn in the regime's propaganda game(Or maybe not. She could have been a willing participant). In the end she looked stupid for what she was saying and trying to prove.

A lot jurors think this way. Then they get in the box and here the evidence. Amazing how knowing the facts will influence one's opinion.

The possibility exists that the DA is charging him with 1st degree murder BECAUSE he knows he'll never get a conviction. The DA is seen doing his job and charging someone who committed a crime, and he doesn't have to worry that it will lead to putting a man in jail who doesn't need to be there.
Yeah, a 0.0% chance of this being the case. The DA is charging him with murder because he murdered someone.

sure. i agree. i have a daughter. and if i killed someone for killing her, i'd expect jail time.

So a dumbass retard oops sorry sooner mom no offense to the mental handicapped, got in a car three sheets to the wind. Murders some innocent boys. So the dumbass liquored up drunk deserves to die by lethal injection. But instead a father takes matters into his own hands and now he deserves to die by lethal injection. Interesting.

The law doesn't suddenly stop being the law, just because we don't like the person killed.

I never said it did. In fact father should die of lethal injection. I just pointed out the dick head instead of being murdered should of died in prison from lethal injection.

true it is actually kind of sad laws work this way, I mean instead of deciding a punishment for a crime we decide crimes to be punished for.

Nor should it be. People are just obsessed with vengeful "justice" to the point that we glorify it.

I'm sure the lawyer types can clarify but I believe intent has something to do with it.

I am fine with my thread title, I am torn still because as a parent I can see his side, as a law abiding boring person I see the side of the law... hence I am torn...

I have a what if for: You are driving sober. His kid runs out in front of you but you have very little time to react. You hit the kid, killing him. Are you really OK with the parent taking the law in their own hands and coming after you with a gun?

Prosecuters also always charge a higher crime so they can plea bargain down to what they actually want.
