Putin is no threat. I was told so in the election last year.
I wonder how close they actually got before getting intercepted. I have a hard time believing that they made into that airspace unnoticed.
No big deal, just saw one fly over my house.

The new MiG is going to be better than the F-35.
No one's keeping an eye on 'Pootin'. See what happens when Palin isn't the Governor of Alaska?
Lol... first off, nice headline... They are turboprops, not jets...
I guess this is a story. But, those bombers would be destroyed the instant we wanted them destroyed if they didn't have some other air support. It would be the equivalent of floating a couple of helium balloons in from of some duck hunters as a show of force.
The only way this is really a big story is if we didn't know they were there until we had visual range on them... which could be a possibility, but it's not stated in the article. Not to mention that any type of stealth aircraft kind of defeats the purpose if you can HEAR the engines before they even get to you. lol
Strange story...

This really isn't a new thing for the Russians. This has been going on since the Cold War. They send their bombers towards our airspace, we intercept them with fighters, a little foreign relations (you know, flipping them the bird) takes place between the aircrews, and they're then escorted it of our airspace and they go home. It's like a game. Anyone who thinks that just because the Soviet Union fell and the Russians are now our friends is sadly mistaken.
Navies around the world are reincorporating conventional subs into their inventories, mainly due to cost, new technology, and noise generation. China operates Kilo-cl**** diesel-electric subs which are damn good boats. They're also making their own SSNs, but their current boats are fairly noisy compared to our latest subs, more along the lines of first generation 688s. In 10 years they'll be making ships and subs that will be on par with what we make.

I wouldn't doubt China's advancement in developing their sub or surface fleet. They have certainly been hacking our DOD often enough. What I doubt is their lack of naval history to guide them in having well trained crews and training centers that would be comparable to those in the US and other long standing navies.
But I really have no idea if that is true.
Don't if we are attacked obama will lead from behind.
this thread is useless with out pics.
Russian bombers have big engines.
Unit I was in used to tag these guys then guide East Coast fighters to shadow.
