The meteorologists in our area seem to be a little concerned about the triple point being close to or right over Tulsa tomorrow, but I think the dryline will be just east of the metro by the time storms begin to fire.

Could be a preety significant tornado day tomorrow in Arkansas and Missouri!

Well, at least I got the shelter cleaned out. Hopefully, we won't need it at all this year!

Tornadoes and stuff here in the St Louis Metro East this morning. In case y'all are keeping weather almanacs or something.

  6. #156
Sounds like the twisters went south of me this time, down in the Belleville area. Damage over around University City, too, but that looks more like wind damage.

I have a friend that lives in St. Charles. Glad to hear things are okay.

All clear here now. Wild start to the morning, though. I wouldn't have had a clue if I hadn't heard the sirens going off.

HRRR pushes the dryline through OKC at noon and Tulsa by 4pm, and storms fire shortly thereafter out in front along the OK/AR border. So probably only the first row of counties in OK bordering AR has a shot at severe weather today.

And like 48A said, ugly day potentially for AR and MO.

Thanks for the update. Looks like I'll be right in the middle of it today. Work in Ft Smith, AR, live about 10 miles northeast of Poteau.

Anything around Cape Girardeau or Paducah? I have friends that live in both those towns.

It looks like Cape and Paducah are both going to be just south of where the really bad stuff is headed.

Took my wife back to see family during storm season and had a couple tornado warnings. So the next time we go back we had some storms and my wife is awake at like 3 staring at the Doppler radar on one of the news channels for a couple of hours. I ask her if she understands what she is watching, she says. "no, but I feel like if i watch it we will be safe."

We were hit with quarter and half dollar sized hail around 1530 today south of Tulsa. We pulled off the road to try to hide under some trees, but still got pelted with some good sized hail. I mPINGed the report, as it occurred.

Aaron Tuttle was on my flight to Houston this morning. We flew over a thunderstorm. The flight attendant had to ask him to quit beating off after every lightning strike.

You get to know the regular patrons pretty well and end up spending most of the time watching the race. Being up in Victory Lane Club is the ONLY way I'd go to the IndyCar race in June, because despite it being a night race it's still pretty damn hot in the stands.

It's really nice up there now that we have Wifi... I typically have to be there two hours before the gates open and it was nice to be able to watch my Canaries playing on my tablet (other than losing to Mancy 7-0)...
Not going to make it. Had some things come up at home and couldn't take the time to make it down there today.

My daughter and son-in-law scored free infield tickets. Not sure how. A friend of theirs has been camped out there since Wednesday. I think I made the right call, as they are forecasting rain for the whole afternoon and into the evening, and a high of only 54.

Baseball tourney in Edmond today and start time was moved up to 9AM from Noon due to the rain predictions.

    Still hasn't rained yet...

You on Bryant south of 2nd? It was raining when I left the Penn and memorial area and was pretty sure my son ran the wipers when we got in our car at the 2nd and Bryant Firestone. That was all around 1:30.

Friday was okay overall but Saturday and Sunday sucked. Saturday was just practice and qualifying. With the colder temps, sprinkles, and not much activity there was hardly anyone in the suites. Yesterday was long and boring except for the storms that rolled in early. They made decent progress on the track drying all afternoon, and the radar looked promising... but then we started getting some sprinkles/drizzle around 6PM and that wiped out any chance of getting the race in.
