Seeing it go around. A JC Commit?
Edit: nvm just really confused by his HS name!
I think City College is actually a high school in Baltimore
Well this one came out of nowhere, but it is always exciting to add new Sooners.

The video posted by 7926 says he's only played football for 1 season. Wow!
I think he looks a little bit like Jarboe.
Correct Sir. City is a college prep high school in the inner city of B'more. Great school in a bad area.Originally Posted by Sooner7926

Sick athlete. Give him two years and with the right attitude he'll be an absolute stud.
Sweet!
Sick? You watch two plays, and you think he's sick?Originally Posted by lifesooner

explosive
Looks like the footprint could get bigger. The Rivals site seems to think this is the next offer going to a east coast player. Brooklyn, New York. http://rivals.yahoo.com/oklahoma/footba ... st1jyZtJB4Originally Posted by oorah_okie

Like I said...sick ATHLETE!!Originally Posted by NickDanger
Never said sick PLAYER, you did. No offense but I'll stick by this comment every time I see a kid with these type of measurables. These kind of athletes with great upsides often make fantastic players with great coaching and a great attitude. That's what my comment insinuated. SOME obviously never pan out. I think Alex Ross is a sick Athlete too...I guess any high school player can't be given high praise?
I never saw Gresham play in high school, but I said the exact same thing about him when I saw him for the first time. You could just tell he had a much higher ceiling than most. I FEEL the same about this guy too. Now if he turns out to be a **** for brains he'll most likely fail.
By the way I saw him run by about 6 Olinemen like they weren't even there in one on one's. It's pretty easy to see what an explosive athlete he is for a guy his size.
There's a video of him at the Rivals combine. He's freakishly athletic but really raw. Last year was his first year of football.Originally Posted by NickDanger

Charles Tapper adapts to new recruiting status
Charles Tapper has spent the early part of this summer much like every other summer he can remember: playing basketball.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound forward has ****umed his regular role as Nike Baltimore Elite’s resident rebounder / enforcer / garbage man. But this run on the circuit for the former City standout is a bit different than in years past. For Tapper, there are no hopes of landing a Division I basketball offer based on his AAU play. He already has plenty of college scholarships on the table thanks to football.
“I love the game of basketball,” Tapper said. “I know this is probably my last year of playing. But it’s fun being back.”
This last hurrah with basketball comes months after his first season of organized football. Tapper joined George Petrides’ Knights and quickly emerged as a physical, athletic presence on the defensive line, and a dynamic p****-catching threat at tight end and wide receiver.
“It wasn’t very easy, but I didn’t think I was going to adapt like I would,” he said.
Thanks to his junior season with City and a couple key performances with Next Level Nation in 7-on-7 tournaments, Tapper went from an unknown, inexperienced prospect to a nationally touted recruit in a matter of months.
Scout.com rates Tapper a four-star prospect and the No. 10 tight end nationally, while Rivals.com lists him as a three-star player and the No. 24 strongside defensive end in the country. The highest praise for Tapper comes from 24/7 Sports, which ranks him as a four-star prospect and the No. 112 player in the entire 2012 cl****.
Tapper credits basketball for his rapid rise to the top of the football recruiting charts.
“It’s beneficial to me because when I step on the football field, people underestimate the way I play the game,” he said. “They think I’m not a very technical player. They forget that I’m quick. In basketball, playing a big-man position, they think I’m slow and my footwork is bad. But when I step on the football field, it’s like I get to show my athleticism.”
Several colleges have taken note of his potential. Tapper said he has been offered by Oklahoma, Rutgers, Maryland, San Diego State, Penn State, West Virginia and Miami. He currently has three schools he considers favorites, starting with the Sooners.
“My first offer was Oklahoma. I thought I was dreaming,” Tapper said. “It’s a little different from home, [it’s] top 10 in college football, and [I like] the coaching staff. [Oklahoma ****istant defensive coordinator] Bobby Wright is just a straight-up guy. He’ll be honest with you.”
The Mountaineers are also at the top of Tapper’s list. Tapper said the proximity to home – his mother could drive to a game in Morgantown and back to Baltimore that day – is a definite positive.
“[I took an] unofficial visit up there. It was beautiful,” he said. “Their stadium is beautiful. Fans come out to support them. We stayed for a basketball game. I got to talk to [former Dunbar running back] Tavon Austin... [and he] told me all about the campus.”
The Hurricanes are the final team on Tapper’s list of favorites. He likes the coaching staff and hopes to visit this fall.
“Miami, that’s just always been my childhood favorite,” Tapper said. “I haven’t visited there yet, but they say … they just treat their football players like celebrities there.”
Tapper, who’s not sure where he will attend school for his senior year, plans to spend the rest of the summer playing with Nike Baltimore Elite. After the Peach Jam next month, he’ll focus on football again, taking a couple unofficial visits, playing in some 7-on-7 tournaments, and just enjoying his new-found status as a Division I recruit.
“It’s just like a big [blessing] to see all these big-time colleges call my phone, and I actually get a chance to talk to the coach and visit their beautiful campuses.”
I'm glad he likes beautiful campuses!
...Pre-season #1 and you get recruits coming from ALL OVER!! You will not hear me ****ing about topping the pre-season polls!
^This. I'm not sure what the problem is with being ranked first in a preseason poll. If you think about it from a player's perspective, what does it really change? You have the same goals, same target on your back (it's OU, people badly want to beat us whether we're #1 or #10). To win a title, you need to get up for each and every game. If you have get complacent often just because you're ranked first, you probably weren't fit to win a championship in the first place.Originally Posted by TittiezBeerNSoonerFB
And welcome to Mr. Charles Tapper. With the way things look the sky is the limit for him, and there's no better school in America to attend if he hopes to reach his full potential.
Looks to be a great prospect!
Tappin' that East Coast.....
Hey holy **** actual highlights
he's got a ton of speed but looks pretty raw when i gets to the ball carrier...hope he can become the next r lewis

The Baltimore City College (BCC), also referred to as The Castle on the Hill, historically as The College, and most commonly City, is a public high school in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A. The City College curriculum includes the International Baccalaureate Programme and emphasizes study in the classics and liberal arts. Baltimore City College is a magnet school, and admission is competitive. Applicants from Baltimore and the surrounding area are evaluated for admission using a combination of grades and standardized test scores.
I didn't think he was so fast from the videos I saw. Not very good blocking on him either. Will be different at the college level for him.
Wow, a game in New Jersey seems pretty painful to watch in person.
Ya, I hope the coaches know what they are doing on this guy. I'm not blown away
some of his potential is that he's a basketball player learning football...his measurables at the nike combine blew away the competition..he is very raw so i wouldn't be surprised if he red shirts plus doesnt see the field until his soph/jr year...could be a great get but it's going to take a lot of technique work
I think it's a good get. He's got everything you cant teach: height, speed, athleticism. He'll probably red shirt and maybe not play alot untill he's a sophmore so that's two years of coaching he can get to improve his technique before he has to play. I like it, think he'll work out.
yea this was only his second year playing football, got to teach him the game
